Updated: May 2, 2024

We are not going to lie, this list was hard to narrow down to just 10 things! Hochatown / Broken Bow has so much to offer for people of all ages!

Hiking Friends Trail

1. Hike Friend's Trail

All of the trails in Beaver's Bend State Park have their perks, but in our opinion Friend's Trail is one of the best!

The Trail follows along the Lower Mountain Fork River and the views are stunning! Complete with waterfalls, this is some scenery you won't want to miss! And the trailhead sign makes for a super cute photo opp!

2. Hochatown Petting Zoo

Hochatown Petting Zoo

The Hochatown Petting Zoo isn't just any regular petting zoo, it is actually an animal rescue! Around 95% of the animals at this Zoo are rescued animals, many from the local area.

Here you'll find a mix of animals from birds and reptiles, farm animals, deer, goats, pigs, and even a kangaroo! You are able to get up close and personal with the animals and even feed them! It is always a family favorite of ours!

Kayak the Mountain Fork River

3. Kayak the Mountain Fork River

What better way to experience the Mountain Fork River and it's views than from a Kayak!

Feeling adventurous? Kayak the Lower Mountain Fork River where you will experience Stage 2 Rapids and maneuver around rocks.

Looking for something more family friendly? The Upper Moutain Fork River is a more calm option and great for those with younger kids.

The Maze of Hochatown

4. The Maze of Hochatown

Think of a corn maze on steroids! This maze is not like any maze we have ever done! Not only do you have to find your way to the exit, but you collect stamps as a scavenger hunt along the way!

This is truly fun for people of all ages and those who like to solve puzzles. Not your thing? Chili dippers a mini golf course is right next door.

Rugaru Zip Lining Over Broken Bow Lake

5. Rugaru Adventures Ziplining

Sail through the trees on the Rugaru Ziplining Course. This is probably one of our favorite Hochatown Adventures!

This course consists of 6 ziplines throughout Beaver's Bend State Park with one stretching across a section of Broken Bow Lake.

Broken Bow Lake

6. Broken Bow Lake

Known for its crystal clear blue water the lake is a must when visiting Hochatown. Hang out at the "beach area" during the Summer months or rent a boat from the Marina.

If you visit the area during the Fall make find a spot for a picnic and enjoy the views of the changing leaves!

Beavers Bend State Park

7. Beaver's Bend State Park

The scenic beauty of Beaver's Bend State Park makes it one of Oklahoma's most popular areas.

The perfect destination for hiking, fishing, biking, boating, river float trips, canoeing, horsebakc riding and so much more!

Cabin Broken Bow OK

8. Hang out at the Cabin!

There is so much to do in Hochatown / Broken Bow, but sometimes all you need is a little down time with family and friends.

Sit down at the card table and play some rounds of Spades, or step outside for tetherball, horseshoes, washers, connect 4, and more!

Firepit Broken Bow OK Cabin

9. Roast S'mores

What cabin trip would be complete without a gooey marshmallow?

Sit around the camp fire and tell stories, play guitar, eat too many s'mores and listen to the wind blow through the Pine Trees! Life doesn't get much better than that!

Hochatime Souvineer Broken Bow Ok

10. Grab a Souvenir

Our favorite place to stop and get a Souvenir is the Hochatime store. It has 2 locations; one right off 259 and a smaller store located right in Beaver's Bend State Park.

The coolest feature is the RV built into the store that has been made into a kids dream hangout!

Hochatown is such a special place for so many reasons! These are our top 10 things to do in Hochatown / Broken Bow, OK! Have you visited the area? We'd love to hear your favorite things to do!
