Kayaking the Lower Mountain Fork River

Updated: May 2

Tucked away in Beavers Bend State Park along the Lower Mountain Fork River, Beavers Bend River Floats treats you to jaw-dropping views of the Kiamichi Mountains.

This cool spot offers a leisurely 2.5-mile float down the Mountain Fork River, perfect for a relaxing hour of paddling through calm waters. Bring your own canoes and kayaks or snag a rental on the spot, all on a first-come, first-served basis.

Kayak while surrounded by majestic Bald Cypress trees which makes for a breathtaking adventure. The unique ecosystem with partially submerged trees offers a magical, otherworldly landscape. Paddle through clear waters, enjoying the sounds of wildlife and keep an eye out for deer, minks, turtles and even majestic bald eagles.
